Responsibilities of a Security Officer

As a Security Officer at Bay Regional Medical Center, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Patrolling: Conduct regular patrols of the facility to detect and prevent potential security breaches.
  • Monitoring: Use surveillance equipment to monitor premises and identify any suspicious activities or individuals.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide assistance as necessary, including but not limited to medical emergencies, fires, and security incidents.
  • Access Control: Control access to restricted areas and ensure that only authorized personnel are granted entry.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle conflicts or difficult situations with professionalism, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Report Writing: Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports, documenting any security-related incidents or observations.

Requirements for the Position

To be considered for the role of Security Officer at Bay Regional Medical Center, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Security Officer, preferably in a healthcare or related setting.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Must be in good physical condition.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals in potentially stressful situations.
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
